The ideal candidate is self-starter with a passion for local news who can produce compelling, well-written stories for both The Herald-Argus and The Michigan City News-Dispatch. We're looking for someone with a natural curiosity who has a knack for story telling in a way that affects our readers. Must be extremely organized and a good planner who can look not only at what's being written for tomorrow's paper but also long-term to produce enterprising stories and projects. Must be a visual thinker who can help plan packages that combine well-written stories, strong photos and other elements. Knowledge of AP style and good news judgment are essential. Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field is preferred, but not required. If you are talented, enthusiastic and love newspapers, you might be a good fit in our newsroom.
